Primary Care Paramedic Instructor – Part Time

JOB SUMMARY:

BizTech College is looking for an experienced ‘Primary Care Paramedic Instructor’ to join our team at the campus in Mississauga, Ontario. This strong personality will be responsible for planning, organizing, and teaching in a manner that associates with the values of BizTech College. The suitable person will be using a range of teaching strategies to meet and support the learning needs of our students along with incorporating a variety of creative tools and useful practices to maximize student involvement.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible for teaching students according to approved curriculum.

· Participate in a team approach and atmosphere we strive for at the college amongst students and faculty.

· Conduct classes with a focus on the specific lesson plan and make the learning experience fun.

· Set up a systematic plan to teach the students that includes lectures, presentations, group discussions, interactive activities, independent and group projects.

· Utilize instruction techniques/methods that identify and consider requirements and learning capacities of students and change when required in response to students of needs.

· Maintain fair and consistent discipline with the students.

· Monitor student progress regularly and adjust courses accordingly.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

· Graduated from a Primary Care Paramedic diploma program.

· University Degree is preferred / Additional college certification/diploma aside from the PCP program is also preferred.

· Must have a valid Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant Certificate (AEMCA).

· Must have a minimum of 4 years of working experience as a Primary Care Paramedic in Ontario.

· Must have 2+ years of land ambulance experience.

· Should be familiar with Private Career Colleges and the Private Career Colleges Act (asset).

· Should be knowledgeable about the Accessibility of Ontarians with Disabilities Act (asset).

· Strong communications skills (Written and Oral).

· Clean Vulnerable Sector Report

· Immunizations are up to date in accordance with the Ontario Ambulance Act.

· Valid CPR and First Aid certification

JOB TYPE:

Part Time, Minimum 4 shifts per month.

WORK HOURS:

Hours of work will be assigned by the Health Sciences Department

Rate of pay: Negotiable.

COMMENCE DATE:

The scheduled start date is no later than August 28, 2023
