In the classroom, students build a solid theoretical based knowledge and put that knowledge to use in start of the art labs here on campus. The use of high-frequency sound waves, also known as ultrasound, is increasingly being used for diagnostic purposes. Physicians often need an inside look of the patient to gain a clear understanding of their condition. As a CST, you will work with a variety of patients, in a variety of settings. Some appointments may be routine, while others may be emergency situations. No matter the circumstance, it’s vital to take the time to explain the ultrasound procedure to your patient and make them feel at ease.
