Network Technician Courses

As a vital part of the IT team, you will undertake tasks of network development and maintenance. You will be responsible to maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs).

Duties & Responsibilities of Network Technician

Depending on the business setting, network technicians perform some or all of following duties:

  • Design and install computer networks, connections and cabling
  • Troubleshoot system failures and identify hold-ups to ensure long term efficiency of network
  • Inspect LAN infrastructure and fix minor problems/bugs
  • Test and configure software and maintain and repair hardware and peripheral devices
  • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance
  • Perform regular data backups to protect the organization’s information
  • Provide technical direction to co-workers on computer and network usage

  • Ontario High school diploma or equivalent, OR
  • Mature student status (18 years old and over) AND
