Duties & Responsibilities of Systems Technology Professional

Responsible for adequate IT infrastructure of the organization, computer systems technician perform the following responsibilities:

  • Setting up hardware and configure software and drivers.
  • Repair and maintenance of equipment such as routers, modems, and other devices.
  • Install well-functioning LAN/WAN and manage servers, IPs, etc.
  • Manage security software in computers and networks and take preventive measures.
  • Troubleshoot system failures, restore functionality and provide solutions.
  • Maintenance sessions to ensure adequate system working.
  • Timely technical support to users and help them understand essential functions.

  • Linux Administration: A Linux administrator is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of Linux servers.
  • ITIL Foundation: This certification will validate that you have knowledge of IT Service Management through an end-to-end operating model for the creation, delivery and continual improvement of tech-enabled products and services.

Students looking to enroll in BizTech College’s Computer Systems Technology program must first meet the following pre-requisites:

  • Ontario High school diploma or equivalent,
  • OR Mature student status (18 years old and over) AND
  • Successful completion of the Wonderlic test
