The Cardiovascular Sonography Technologist (CST) Program at BizTech College has a lot to offer. It’s hard to pick just one reason why we love it so much!

Here’s some of what makes the Cardiovascular Sonography Technologist program worth your while.

Supportive Learning Environment

Our instructors aren’t here just to teach. BizTech College instructors are industry leaders, equipped with the knowledge and skills required to help students succeed. More importantly, though, our instructors want to see students succeed. Smaller class sizes allow instructors to get to know students on a more personal level and allows for a learning environment that meets each student’s needs.

Our instructors see the potential in each student and are cheering them on every step of the way!

Unique in Every Aspect

BizTech College is one of the very few colleges in Ontario, private or public, to offer a Cardiovascular Sonography program that offers both echocardiography and vascular modalities.

Echocardiography is the study of the heart, and taking clear, moving images of the heart and its functions. This allows doctors monitor how heart and its valves are functioning. Unlike other imaging techniques, echocardiogram is

Vascular is the ability to study the arteries and the veins. At BizTech, the CST program combines both studies into one diploma. In the classroom, students build a solid theoretical based knowledge and put that knowledge to use in start of the art labs here on campus. The college has built strong community relationships, which help students easily find co-op placements.

Becoming a Valued Member of a Healthcare Team

The use of high-frequency sound waves, also known as ultrasound, is increasingly being used for diagnostic purposes. Physicians often need an inside look of the patient to gain a clear understanding of their condition. As a CST, you provide physicians, and other members of the healthcare team, with valuable diagnostic information.

Getting to Know Patients from the Inside Out

As a CST, you will work with a variety of patients, in a variety of settings. Some appointments may be routine, while others may be emergency situations. No matter the circumstance, it’s vital to take the time to explain the ultrasound procedure to your patient and make them feel at ease.

Prosperous Career Opportunities

Nationwide, Canada is currently experiencing a shortage of Cardiovascular Sonography Technologists. Within the next 6 years, it is estimated that 23,200 new jobs will open up, due to expansion and replacement demand.

Students are not only prepared to keep up with the demands of the job, but also build valuable relationships with potential future employers through required clinical placements.

Students have the option to find employment in a variety of work environments after graduating from the CST program. Echo cardio, vascular, ultrasound tech, diagnostic medical sonography tech, educator, and researcher are just some of the career opportunities available.
