  • Format: Keep your resume in a crisp and clean format. Even before it lands on the hiring manager’s table, it will go through software used to sort resumes. Sloppy formatting may cause a low score.   
  • Keywords: Keywords show that you know related jargons. Read the job posting carefully and pull out any keywords the company used. Be cautious about using too many keywords, you want to maintain the balance.   
  • Summary: If you are applying for the job for the first time, it is advisable to include a summary statement that tells what you have accomplished and where you see yourself in the future.  
  • Review & Proofread: Sending a cover letter and resume with typing errors is the worst. Make sure you proofread twice or thrice before sending. It is a good idea to let someone else proofread for you.
