The gap is greater when it comes to the highest earners. Across Canada, the most skilled and experienced medical office assistants make around $60,000. But in Ontario, the top MOAs earn more than $66,000.

How Much Do Medical Office Assistants Make In Different Roles?

MOAs have several career options. You can work in hospitals, public clinics, and private clinics. You can also take on roles as unit clerks in hospitals and other large facilities. Typically, unit clerks focus on clerical tasks like registering patients, scheduling tests and appointments, updating charts, and managing supply inventory.

An MOA role can be very similar, but it might also include clinical responsibilities like measuring vital signs and helping during minor medical procedures.   • MOAs in hospitalsThey earn between $43,000 and $62,000.

According to our experts, we conclude that MOA salaries are generally higher in hospitals than they are in other types of medical offices. But there’s room for significant growth in any healthcare setting.

What’s The Scope Of Medical Office Assistants In Ontario?

According to Job Bank Canada and BizTalk experts, the demand for medical office assistants will remain steady in all regions of Ontario over the next few years. That’s partly due to the planned construction or expansion of hospitals and other medical facilities.
