There is a strong demand for administrative assistants in Canada right now. Currently, the Government of Canada Job Bank has 2,025 listings for administrative assistant jobs in Canada wide with most openings in the Greater Toronto Area.   

Administrative assistants are employed by all sectors – education, public administration, technical services, accounting, healthcare and related services. With digital transformation, employment growth for tech-savvy professionals is expected to grow further.     

26- weeks short duration, comprehensive program designed to prepare students for a variety of jobs. Is this program right for you? These quick facts cover everything you need to know about training, admission prerequisites and career prospects.   


As a student of the administrative assistant program at BizTech College, you will gain solid knowledge in the following areas and gain transferable skills.   

Business Communication  

  • Answering telephone and electronic queries effectively.   
  • Schedule, arrange and manage appointments, meetings and travel schedules.  
  • Determine and establish office procedures, maintain office inventory and supplies.   
  • Event management – organize and manage office events.   

Technical Skills  

  • Advanced MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  
  • Bookkeeping and invoicing using QuickBooks.  
  • Maintain manual and computerized information filing systems.   
  • Use cloud-based office software. 


This six-month accelerated program is designed to get you job-ready fast, with a varied skill set that will help you secure a job and progress through your career graph.   

The program’s added event management component opens up additional career opportunities and helps you get ready for the fast-paced work environment.

Students looking to enroll in our administrative assistant program at BizTech College should meet the following prerequisites:    

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent OR    
  • Mature Student Status (18 years of age or older) AND    
  • Successful completion of Entry Assessment Test

Yes, the administrative assistant program at BizTech College is eligible for OSAP. The college also offers an interest-free self-payment option. Our admission counsellors will help you with the financial aid options you qualify for.   

Students may be eligible for the Second Career program. Second Career covers up to $28,000 of education costs for learning new skills and retraining.
